“Pimpernel” Wallpaper Design, 1876 by William Morris
William Morris is one of my all-time favourites.
I had the weirdest series of dreams last night. I had set my alarm for 6:00 and 9:30, because I like being able to wake up and turn off one alarm and know that I still have a few hours left to go, and the time in between those two alarms went so slowly. My first dream was a zombie dream, which I hate because they’re always the fast kind of zombie that chases me. That was one of those dreams where I kept waking up and falling back into the dream, which is even worse, because I’m somewhat conscious.
I don’t remember the second dream, but in the third dream, I spent the entire dream in my bedroom at my parents’ house (which was actually where my sister’s bedroom is in real life). I had a boyfriend who was kind of built like a football player (like, he was large, but not fat large, just big bones or whatever) who I also knew was a little bit of a redneck (but I like rednecks, ok). I had just come back from somewhere, so it was just me unpacking my bags and us talking and every once in a while we’d hug and it was just really comfortable.
My fourth dream took place at my old high school, and in the dream it was part hospital. I was hanging out with this guy I like, and then he disappeared, and everyone was freaking out because they knew he was suicidal and going to try and kill himself. I found him laying in a field outside (on the softball field!?) and the doctors were able to save him.
It was a very strange night.
We also went to this awesome antique store today and I got a billion glass bottles for the packaging aspect of my thesis project. So exciting! I can’t wait to start filling them with weird shit and sticking labels on them. I also got a really cute framed print of an owl!
My mom came down this weekend, and we had a great time (like always!) but this time was extra special, because we got matching tattoos! My mom has always wanted a tattoo, but has never been able to decide on what she wanted, so when a friend told me how a friend of hers got a tattoo with her mom, I thought, “That’s perfect!”
I already have four herons on my back which represent my family, and my mom has always liked them, so deciding what the two of us would get was actually pretty easy. I’m so proud of my mom for getting it done! They were done by Cyndi Lou of Squid & Whale, who is easily my favorite tattoo artists, hands down (she’s now done four of my tats).
